New Gas Turbine Generators

FX-45 modular gas turbine generators — 45 MW-class, 50 Hz & 60 Hz

USP&E’s named new modular gas turbine generator platform for hyperscale and large campuses: 45 MW-class, configurable for 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with delivery capacity slots from 2028.

Why a modular genset platform matters

Hyperscale and large industrial programmes often fail when every block is a custom frame with unique civil and controls. A modular 45 MW-class genset architecture lets owners phase megawatts with hall fill or process growth, keep N+1 at the block level, and standardise spare parts and operator training across a fleet.

FX-45 is positioned as that new platform — equipment-first — while USP&E’s EPC culture still designs fuel, electrical, and interconnection as one accountable plant.

50 Hz and 60 Hz as platform options

Global campuses and export projects need both frequencies. FX-45 is offered as a platform that can be configured for 50 Hz or 60 Hz so equipment strategy is not locked to a single grid region.

How FX-45 sits on this equipment site

Multi-unit islands only behave when every generator on the bus shares a coherent frequency strategy. Mixing undocumented 50 Hz and 60 Hz iron is not clever optimisation; it is a forced redesign. Load-share and sync-check settings assume the Hertz you froze in the owner’s requirement document. USP&E EPC teams treat that freeze as a gate equal to fuel letters and MW class.

That dual path is deliberate: Powering Projects with available OEM-class equipment today, and locking Possibility with modular FX-45 slots for the next phase — under the same Extreme Ownership team.

Who should engage on FX-45

  • IPPs and industrials that want modular genset blocks rather than a single oversized custom frame.
  • Owners who need interim new or new-surplus GT generators while FX-45 slots mature.
  • Teams that require one EPC and O&M partner across bridge equipment and future modular fleets.

Nearer-term path: live OEM-class inventory

Near-term packages pull from live inventory and OEM pathways under Extreme Ownership. Later standardised blocks can align to FX-45 once slots open. Packaging how-to context: modular gas turbines packaging · platform page FX-45.

Lifecycle packaging around the platform

Frequency mismatch is the most expensive “adjacent” mistake. A used 60 Hz machine does not rescue a 50 Hz programme without conversion engineering that changes cost, spares, and schedule. Keep the light guide honest: adjacency is allowed; sloppy Hertz is not. Packaging envelopes from the modular packaging article still apply when used blocks join a phased yard.

Next steps

  1. USP&E maps bridge gensets from live inventory against FX-45 slot timing.
  2. Engineering scopes EPC/EPCM and optional O&M as one accountable offer — Speed with Excellence, Extreme Ownership.

FX-45 FAQ

Does FX-45 replace searching inventory?
